Small S swell for Sunday/Monday
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 20th October)
Best Days: Sunday and Monday mornings at south magnets
Recap
Great waves yesterday with a good N/NE swell to 3-4ft with improving winds, hanging in at 2-3ft this morning with good offshore breezes again. Make the most of the swell as there's not much in the way of surf due over the coming period.
This weekend and next week (Oct 21 - 27)
Heading into the weekend, there'll be no N/NE swell left into tomorrow leaving tiny waves across the coast.
A strong front passing across us this evening will be too zonal for the most part, but a sneaky fetch of W/SW polar gales at the systems core should produce a small S'ly swell for Sunday, coming in at 2ft across south facing beaches, fading from a similar size Monday.
Winds will be an issue Sunday with a morning W'ly giving into a S change, while Monday looks good with W'ly tending E breeze.
Longer term, there's nothing significant on the cards until late week when a broad but relatively weak mid-latitude low spawning off the East Coast brings some possible E swell, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
