Best Days: Wednesday morning at south swell magnets

Recap

A solid kick in south swell on Saturday though winds weren't ideal, while yesterday pumped with offshore winds and lots of size leftover.

This morning the swell was back to a small 2ft at magnets with N'ly winds.

This week and weekend (Sep 19 - 24)

Unfortunately there's not much to talk about this week. N'ly winds down our coast this afternoon will move offshore away from us this evening.

Therefore any small windswell will fade overnight leaving tiny waves into tomorrow morning.

A strong front moving across us tomorrow will project a fetch of strong to gale-force W/SW-SW winds through our southern swell window but the fast track east and direction of the fetch isn't too ideal.

Tomorrow there may be a late wave at south magnets though with SW winds, while Wednesday morning is the best chance for a wave with a W/NW-NW offshore breeze and 2-3ft sets at south magnets, easing through the day, back to 1-1.5ft Thursday.

Into the weekend a mid-latitude low moving in from the west may see an infeed of NE winds developing down our coast Saturday as it approaches.

The models are still divergent regarding this but latest forecasts have a building N/NE swell through Saturday likely to the 2-3ft range with onshore N/NE winds, fading Sunday with an offshore change.

We'll have a closer look at this Wednesday.
