Best Days: Early tomorrow magnets for any leftover swell, Sunday, Monday morning
Recap
Great waves yesterday with a peak in SE groundswell and morning offshore wind.
Today the swell has dropped back to a smaller 2-3ft and with a variable wind through the morning.
This week and weekend (Jan 3 - 8)
The SE swell should continue to fade overnight, leaving tiny1-1.5ft waves across the coast tomorrow morning. A light NW wind is due before E'ly sea breezes kick in.
Friday should be tiny, but late in the day a small new S'ly swell may be seen across south magnets. Only 1-2ft sets are due, with the swell being produced by a small low currently south-west of us.
Easing 1-1.5ft waves are then due Saturday across south magnets.
The N/NE windswell for the weekend has been upgraded in size a little, with the fetch of N/NE winds off our coast expected to be broader, more sustained and hang in right until dawn Sunday morning.
A small increase with onshore winds is expected Saturday afternoon, reaching a weak 2ft by dark, while Sunday morning should see good 3ft+ sets as N/NW winds swing more NW into the afternoon.
A straighter offshore W'ly wind is due Monday with leftover and fading 2ft sets. Longer term there's nothing too significant for next week, so try and get a surf in Sunday.
