Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 25th November)

Best Days: South magnets Sunday morning, dawn Monday and Wednesday and Thursday

Recap

A strong building E/SE swell through yesterday but conditions were best in southern corners through the morning with a S'ly breeze, tending more onshore into the afternoon.

The low was a touch stronger than forecast on Wednesday and as a result the size seen this morning was a bit bigger than expected with pumping 4-6ft sets on the coast.

The swell should of eased steadily through this afternoon though.

This weekend and week (Nov 26 - Dec 2)

Into tomorrow there won't be much swell left at all across the coast from the east, with fading tiny sets under a W'ly breeze.

The S'ly swell for later Saturday and more so Sunday is still not that flash with a fetch of strong to gale-force SW winds just within our swell window.

We may see 2-3ft sets at south swell magnets Sunday with a morning offshore ahead of afternoon E/NE sea breezes.

Monday morning doesn't look to offer much more than easing 2ft sets across south magnets.

The next pulse of swell is due out of the S/SE on Wednesday from a small low forming south of us and pushing east while generating a fetch of S'ly gales in our south swell window.

The low will only be small and quick, but a good kick Wednesday to 2-3ft is expected across south facing beaches into the afternoon, easing Thursday.

We'll have a closer look at this Monday though. Have a great weekend!
