Small easing south swell, hopefully a fun south swell early next week
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 16th November)
Best Days: South magnets early tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday
Recap
Excellent waves yesterday morning with clean 3-5ft of E/SE swell, easing back steadily through the day as winds tended variable.a
Today there wasn't much left at all with tiny choppy leftovers with poor winds.
This week and weekend (Nov 17 - 20)
Today's S'ly winds are linked to a strong cold front pushing up past us and we should of seen some small S'ly swell across south facing beaches this afternoon.
This swell will ease tomorrow from the S/SE, with south facing beaches hopefully offering 2ft sets at dawn under a N/NW offshore.
Tiny surf is expected into the afternoon, while Friday will see tiny N'ly windswell peaks, fading as a W'ly change moves through.
Into the weekend an intense low sitting to our south-west will generate fetches too westerly in nature to create swell for our coast, but on the backside of the low a better aligned fetch of S/SE gales should produce a decent S'ly groundswell for Monday.
South facing beaches are set to see 2-3ft sets Monday, easing back Tuesday with favourable winds from the northern quadrant. We'll have a closer looker at this on Friday though.
