Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 29th August)

Best Days: Tuesday and early Wednesday south swell magnets, open beaches early Thursday

Recap

Tiny waves all weekend from the S/SE, with similar conditions continuing into this morning.

This week (Aug 30 – Sep 2)

Tomorrow looks to be the pick of the forecast period, with a good new S'ly groundswell under N/NW tending N/NE winds. The swell has been downgraded a little due to the polar front forming a little later and not being as strong in our swell window. We should see 3ft to occasionally 4ft sets at south swell magnets, fading quickly later in the day and further from 2ft Wednesday.

A small N/NE windswell is due to be in the water Wednesday as well from N/NE winds developing off the coast, coming in at 2ft across north-east magnets. NW winds won't be ideal though, so hit up those south magnets early.

Thursday should see the NE windswell fading from 1-2ft at swell magnets with W/NW winds.

For the rest of the period there's nothing major on the cards with a slight S'ly groundswell maybe hitting 1-2ft. Besides this it'll be tiny.
