This weekend and next week (Jan 3-Jan10)

Central QLD: Fun tradeswells developing over the weekend on the back of a SE surge

Small waves incoming.

Nothing yet, building through the day

With high pressure moving NE into the Tasman we’ll see winds increase as a SE surge builds up the Fraser/Burnett coast. We’ll see a small boost in size from the SE-E/SE generated by a minor increase in winds feeding into a trough in advance of the surge. That is now moving northwards, leaving a generalised weak SE-E/SE trade flow in the Southern Coral Sea which will hold small fun waves across the weekend.

Into next week weak but persistent trades hold small fun waves through to mid week as the trade fetch weakens.

Surf then goes tiny into next weekend and early week 13/1 possibly building again later that week as a low moves out into the Central Tasman.

We’ll see what it looks like on Mon.

Seeya then and have a great weekend!
