Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Wed Nov 6th)

This week and next week (Nov6-Nov 15)

Central QLD: Very tiny, maybe just rideable

Very tiny, weak outlook.

Nope, better for fishing

We’re still mired in a weak, troughy spring pattern with weak high pressure drifting across the Tasman and a persistent trough line along the NSW coast linked to an inland trough/heat low across Australia. Current weak winds in the Coral Sea are leading to tiny/flat surf and this is expected to continue over the weekend.

During this period we’ll see a slow moving high in the Tasman and a weak trough of low pressure in the Central Tasman linked to a trough off the North Coast which looks to be slow moving through next week. Winds between the high and the trough of low pressure are weak/moderate breezes but persistently aimed at Central NSW and thus not favourable for swell production in CQ.

Coral Sea continues it's slumber

In short, more tiny surf, possibly just rideable mid week.

We’ll see how that looks on Fri.
