Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Mon Nov 4th)

This week and next week (Nov4-Nov 15)

Central QLD: Weak outlook but a few tiny waves possible

Just rideable surf on the radar.

Red tide, no surf

Very quiet across the entire spectrum of the East coast swell window at present. Weak high pressure near New Zealand is being shunted away by another weak high cell moving into the Tasman overnight into tomorrow. Troughiness continues with a slow moving trough line semi-stalled across the MNC this week. That situation continues medium term with more slow moving trough lines. No real winds of swell generating significance in the Coral Sea this week. We may see just enough energy in the Coral Sea to generate a tiny wave late this week into the weekend. The outlook for next week is for more of the same. A very weak trade flow may see some small surf into next week but expect marginal just rideable sized swells.

Just enough wind (maybe) to generate some tiny waves

Check back Wed for the latest.
