This weekend and next week (Oct18-Oct25)

Central QLD: Small fun E swell next week, beginning Mon

Algal bloom and no surf

Not much on Sat as weak winds occupy the Coral Sea so expect tiny/flat surf.

Similar for Sun.

Through Mon we’ll see a slow building trend from the E/SE as swells fill in from a tropical depression drifting south from Fiji (see below).

Source of E swell next week

It should be a slow build as initial pulses from the tradewind band make landfall with sets building to 2ft by close of play.

Stronger, longer period swells show on Tues with 2-3ft sets through the day. It will be coming from a fair way away so expect pulses and slow periods. Light winds are expected.

We’ll see E/SE swells extend into Wed with a very slow ramping down in size and consistency  into Thurs.

Check back Mon for the latest and have a great weekend!
