This week and next week (Oct16-Oct25)

Central QLD: Small, fun surf tailing off with an E swell next week

Fun waves slowly easing with a swell next week

Still some fun ones rolling in

We have a weakening trade flow in the Coral Sea which will see the current spell of fun waves tail off through tomorrow, becoming tiny/flat into Fri and the weekend.

Our next swell comes as the fetch retreats eastwards and becomes intensified by a deepening trough of low pressure between Vanuatu and Fiji, which forms a broad surface which tracks southwards from later this week.

This will see some quality E-E/SE swell make landfall at spots with wide open E’ly swell windows between Breaks spit and the Capricorn Channel. Expect sets to show from Mon and persist through Tues, tailing off Wed.

Check back Fri for the latest.
