Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri Sep 20th)

This weekend and next week (Sep20-Sep27)

Central QLD: Tiny/flat weekend, surf developing mid next week

Nothing doing today

No change to the outlook with tiny flat surf this weekend as weak high pressure tracks away form the Coral Sea, leading to tiny/flat surf over the weekend and into early next week.

We should see stronger high pressure move into the Tasman next week and build a ridge up the QLD Coast. Tradewinds are expected to develop in the Coral Sea through next week, leading to rideable surf from mid week.
There is some model divergence around but medium confidence we’ll see rideable waves develop from Wed next week and extend into next weekend.

Should see some rideable surf from this trade flow

We’ll flag a dynamic outlook for later next week and see how it looks on Mon.

Seeya then and have a great weekend!
