Pumping surf, easing into the weekend
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Wed Aug 14th)
This week and next week (Aug14-Aug 23)
Central QLD: Pumping surf, easing into the weekend
Solid E swells easing into the weekend.
A summer style pattern is seeing tropical moisture dragged down the East coast by a trough and deep E/NE-NE flow from a large high in the Tasman, generating large swells for Central QLD. This pattern breaks down as we head into the weekend.
Looking good for tomorrow with easing but still sizey E/NE swells and offshore winds.
By Fri we’ll see that size ebbing right away as the pattern breaks down.
Surf will become tiny/flat over the weekend and extend into the middle of next week, at least.
We may see a weak trade flow develop later next week which has some limited surf potential but lets see how it looks on Fri.
For now, get in and grab some of this current swell if you can.
