Small boost then back to tiny but just surfable

This week and next week (Apr8-Apr 19)
Central QLD: Small boost then back to tiny but just surfable
Fun sized surf over the weekend holding into today.
We’ve got a very slow moving pattern this week with a very sluggish and large high (1035hPa) barely moving from a position to the S of WA. A high E of NZ is feeding winds into a trough in the Coral Sea and that will hold fun surf today and into tomorrow.
Size then eases right back as winds ease in the Coral Sea. So we are looking at generally tiny, just rideable surf from Wed-Sat.
We will see a high pressure ridge and SE wind surge develop this weekend which should boost wave heights a notch. We nay even see a low pressure area develop south of the Solomons during this period and a late season cyclone can’t be ruled out, although it’s likely to haggle limited surf potential even if it does form.
Following this we should see some small fun surf next week as SE winds propagate across the Coral sea although these winds are starting to move further north as we head deeper into Autumn so no great size is expected.
Check back Wed and we’ll see how it’s shaping up.
