Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri 17th Nov)

This weekend and next week (Nov15-Nov24)

Central QLD: Small surf on the weekend with a downgraded outlook for next week

Tiny, onshore waves since Wed.

No change to the weekend f/cast. We’ll see some small swell trains from TC Mal Sat but only the odd 2ft set is expected with SE-E/SE winds.

That swell will be gone on Sun.

Into next week and a large blocking high moving into the Tasman over the weekend is now weaker than expected and the resultant trade flow through the Coral Sea is also much weaker.
Therefore we’re now only looking at tiny surf for next week. Possibly building to just-rideable levels later next week.

Only weak winds in the Coral Sea now expected and marginal surf

We’ll keep tabs on it over the weekend and report back Mon.

Until then have a great weekend!
