Small but surfable from this weekend

This week and next week (Oct 25-Nov3)
Central QLD: Small but surfable from this weekend
Swell coming this weekend and early next week.
Spectacular charts more characteristic of late Summer/Autumn with a Cat 5 TC in the South Pacific bearing down on Vanuatu, and a powerful frontal intrusion poised to enter the Tasman Sea backed by a monster high in the Bight. A strong S-SE surge associated with this system spawns a surface low off the North Coast when it encounters a trough line in that zone. We’ll see a lot of wind and swell ahead from the dynamic interplay of these systems, most of it aimed at SEQLD but with some small options for CQ.
The SE surge kicks in Fri, with surf building to 1-2ft over the wekeend. Models are suggesting a small amount of E/NE swell from the Coral Sea Fri but this is likely over-cooked. We mnay see some small surf Fri.
Into next week and a powerful sub-tropical low forming off the North Coast will generate small SE-E/SE swells for those breaks with exposure to the Capricorn Channel north of Breaksea spit. Expect 2-3ft sets Sun into Mon.
Easing surf is expected Tues.
Not much on the horizon after that so make the most of this upcoming swell event.
Check back Fri for the latest.
