This week and next week (Aug9-Aug18)

Central QLD:  Surf becoming tiny into the weekend with a flat spell ahead

Easing surf with just a few tiny waves leftover.

Just tiny peelers today

High pressure (1031hPa) is slowly but surely moving into the Tasman in a NE direction pushing a decaying tradewind flow further north and leading to easing surf across CQ after a great run of waves.

Easing tradewinds with surf becoming tiny/flat

Tiny remnants may be surfable Thurs but by Fri we’ll see tiny/flat surf become established.

The flat spell looks to extend right through next week under current modelling as a weak, troughy pattern spreads through the Coral Sea next week.

Longer term and the troughy pattern may be resolved later next week by an approaching low/front which looks to bring typically strong W’ly winds for August and more tiny/flat surf

Check back Fri for the latest.
