Fun surf continues, easing into the weekend

This weekend and next week (July26-Aug 4 )
Central QLD: Fun surf continues, easing into the weekend
Heaps of fun waves across CQ since Tues.
We’ve still got a massive high pressure system (1037 hPa) moving over inland NSW, slowly weakening as it enters the Tasman Sea through tomorrow and over the weekend. The high has created a firm ridge up the QLD Coast and a broad swathe of fresh SE breezes to strong winds in the Coral Sea. The ridge up along the sub-tropical coast will break down as the high moves NE int the Tasman and weakens. Surf will hold at current sizes through Thurs, before slowly easing into Fri and becoming tiny again over the weekend.Cold fronts early next week see tiny/flat surf but a strong high looks to rebuild the ridge with good potential for a repeat dose of fun surf as SE winds again build through the Coral Sea likely Tues/Wed. That offers great prospects for surf later next week.
Check back Fri for the latest update and a last look at the weekend.
