Mostly flat- just a tiny wave at super exposed locations
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Wed 21st June)
This week and next week (June21-June30)
Central QLD: Mostly flat- just a tiny wave at super exposed locations
A large area of low pressure consolidated in the Tasman and is now slow moving as it approaches the North Island. We’re in for another series of fronts and troughs through the end of the week and into the weekend with plenty of W’ly quadrant wind ahead.
None of these features generate swell for CQ, so we're looking at a typical winter flat spell.
The only swell source is long range E/SE swell from a long trough with embedded low in Tongan latitudes which will supply a tiny, background signal from this weekend.
Expect a few very inconistent sets to 1-2ft at the most exposed breaks with exposure to the Capricorn Channel, tiny/flat elsewhere.
This tiny swell will continue into next week with tiny/flat surf elsewhere.
Check back Fri for the latest.
