This weekend and next week (June3-June9)

Central QLD: Fun waves from this weekend onwards

Surf starting to show signs of life across CQ, with more to come.

Showing signs of life

No great change to the f/cast with a high pressure ridge already building across the QLD coast and set to be reinforced by a much, stronger high which moves SE of Tasmania (summer latitudes) over the weekend. That will see a broad fetch of SE-E/S winds develp in the Coral Sea, extending down into the Southern Coral Sea. A developing swell from this wind field will see surf build into the 2-3ft range by Sun, and peak Mon in th 3ft range, holding in the 2-3ft range until mid next week with a slow easing into later next week.

Plenty of SE wind in the Coral Sea with fun surf ahead

Further ahead and surf is expected to ease back to tiny/flat by Fri nex week, staying tiny into next weekend.

We’ll see how that is shaping up on Mon.

Seeya then and have a great weekend.
