Fresh swell building on Sunday, before peaking on Monday
Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa forecast by Guy Dixon (issued Thursday 12th May)
This week (Friday 13th) and weekend (Saturday 14th - Sunday 15th):
Background energy will be the main source of energy throughout the remainder of the week and into the weekend with inconsistent sets breaking in the 3-5ft range.
Long range energy generated by a strong polar frontal progression originating south of the Heard Island region is due to fill in on Monday, preceded only by energy generated by mid-latitude activity.
Sunday should see options increase to the 6ft range by the late afternoon, further kicking to a strong 10-12ft by Monday. As this swell dissipates, conditions should ease on Tuesday, fading from the 8-10ft range, further on Wednesday from the 6ft range.
A moderate easterly trade-flow should persist throughout the weekend gradually swinging more east/southeasterly into the early stages of next week.
Following a brief lull on Thursday, we are due to see the next swell build into Friday morning. Long range fore runners are steered by ordinarily aligned fetches west of Heard Island are expected to fill in on Thursday, with the bulk of the size arriving on Friday.
At this stage, we have the potential to pick up sets in the 6-8ft range.
More detail next week.
