Swellnet For Lifeline Classic And Board Sale 2023
As the year continues to fly by, it brings us closer to the annual Swellnet Board Yard Sale event at Freshwater, raising money for the Lifeline Classic in October (Saturday the 14th).
We're moving the event a couple of hundred metres north, back to where it was held in 2019, on the grass in front of The Pocket Cafe to allow for easier access to drop off and pick up boards.
The Swellnet team will consist of Joao Rodrigues, Jake Warr, Joey Abbott and myself (Craig), and we're looking to raise $3,000 before the event, so please click here to start donating. Any amount helps and is much appreciated.
This year takes on special meaning following the recent, devastating passing of a well known local identity, among others who are succumbing to increasing pressures both socially, financially or otherwise.
The yard sale day works like this:
- For sellers, rock up any time from 8:30am with your near new or used (not trashed!) board.
- We'll have two seperate tables this year, one for board registration and the other for sales.
- On arrival go to the registration desk to get your board stickered with your asking price.
- Leave the board with us and hang around or come back before 12pm to see if it sold to claim your cash.
- When you find a bargain, take that board up to the sales table and we'll grab your cash and note that the board has been sold to the seller.
- For buyers, there are always great bargains with all types of boards and shapes.
- For boards under $200, $20 will be donated to Lifeline, and for boards over $200, 10% of the price will go to Lifeline.
- Marty from The Pocket Cafe has provided some vouchers to give to board sales over a set price.
- Also, cash makes it easier to pay the sellers through the day, though we will have EFTPOS facilities available.
So pencil in Saturday, the 2nd of September and grab a bargain for yourself or your dad (Father's Day is the following day).
Click here to donate if you can't make the day.
