Arctic Swell: Surfing the Ends of the Earth - video
Photographer Chris Burkard and surfers Patrick Millin, Brett Barley, and Chadd Konig brave sub-zero temperatures in the Arctic Circle to capture moments of raw beauty in conditions that rank among the harshest in the natural world. The bitterly cold seas and wind exact a large price on their minds and bodies, but the reward - adventure, amazement, and self-knowledge - draws them closer together and pushes them to tackle the next frontier in surfing.

Cool.
If I woke up to six feet of snow though, I'd be heading to the hills.
fuck that for a joke....the word masochist comes to mind
For me it's frightened turtle.
I get the adventure aspect and all, but if you want to get waves to yourself all you need to do is skip work one day.
Having lived in Tas and surfed in North Cali and Oregon, Im guessing you wouldnt last any more than 1/2 hour in the water, no matter how much rubber you are wearing.
Redefining the terms shrinkage and blue balls
surfed the western most tip of norway last weekend, was cold enough, in summer :/
Ohh my gawd (read exaggerated southern californian valley accent) it is just so rad to change people lives by riding tiny b grade waves and filming ourselves ,we are sooo extreme, those people who live there must be soo stoked we came!!!!What a load of wank, thanks for wasting 7 minutes of my internet time stu. Maybe just watch it with no sound if you really have to people.
Nobody has to watch it Mike, but I'm chuffed you think I have that authority.
PS: I'd be aware of any emails sent from Nigeria if I were you.
Absolutely Stunning. The majesty of the planet we surf.
