Watch: Calypte: A Sailing And Surfing Voyage // Trailer
Rare is the surf movie that's eagerly anticipated; the 'net is so full of content that we rarely want for more imagery or stories.
Yet over the last decade, Ishka Folkwell and Torren Martyn have carved out a singular niche within surfing. Didn't appear to be trying either. The pair just went, surfed, filmed, then bunkered at home editing their footage for a single release, defying social media's rule of everpresent posting.
In spite of this - or perhaps even because of it - they've made a lot of fans along the way, and right now they await the imminent release of 'Calypte: A sailing and surfing voyage'. Produced by needessentials, 'Calypte' captures Torren and Aiyanna "living on the ocean, chasing waves, and travelling with the wind" during a year-long trip through Indonesia.
