Strictly speaking, this clip from Tom Bonython was filmed during two seasons - autumn and winter. The last day of the former, the first day of the latter.
The second day was far better. A fine sign for the season to come.
Tim bonythons clip are pretty sick as far as footage go but man the music is almost always so so bad, seriously WTF

OMG....that second song....found myself smashing my keyboard repeatedly against my head to make it stop. I cant unhear it now.
Love your visual craft though Tim!

'Gripping Stuff' is still his best work.

couldn't say 'no thanks' fast enough (to surfing there)

Plenty of paddlers getting towed through in hope of the glory shot (as per normal at this spot it seems) dangerous and illegal . I didnt see the 'Oh we just take turns sharing the rope" at all more just the usual suspects running very close (and falling off on occasion) on the pack of paddlers .
Glad the tow crew in WA have more sense/ manners than that.
@Dylan maybe worth buying Summer a Gath hat mate.
East coast Chaos!

great work tim ,your vids are still the best !

Great footage again, the tow-ins have a unfair advantage other those who choose to paddle in. The tow rope will clean someone one of these days resulting in serious injury.

"Ride and Collide" or "Lost Track" - really a very easy choice.

I enjoyed it a lot having fast-forwarded and mainly muted.
What a beautiful beast of a wave.
Go hard or go home.
I'd be a happy spectator if I ever got there.

+1 OHV500, no contest and that music was truly awful.

Why’s this one get a run but the Vicco one get removed?

Tim has an incredible and apparently unique ability to make insane footage a pain to watch. The slow-motion love is incomprehensible - only when you watch this stuff at the usual rate do you get to appreciate the reflexes and skill of the riders, and how hectic the waves are. And that music.
Not challenging the commitment to being on every swell and blowing up every spot over many years. Has certainly helped a lot of surfers' careers and his own.

I appreciate Tim's eye for the shot but at 13 minutes, that was 11 minutes too long. It looks like a very challenging wave, but the kind of surfing they need to do just doesn't do it for me for more than a minute or two...much prefer good rail surfing with turns.
Mind you, the Red Bull Cape Fear here a few years ago was the best surf comp I've ever seen, and that wave Mr Caddy gets around 3min or so was rather large and well done.
But Solander is getting a bit ho-hum now, especially after all the carry-on.
