Watch: Kirra just a couple of hours ago
Today's long range easterly groundswell ran a little earlier than predicted. James predicted a peak late-morning, but the largest waves seemed to come early morning, which was a bit of shame for Kirra and Snapper as an early morning high tide swallowed the swell.
By mid-morning, however, the tide dropped enough for Kirra to barrel and there was still enough size to make it interesting.
This clip features Mick Fanning, Parko, Griffin Colapinto, Seth Moniz, Occy, Dion Atkinson, and more.

That last wave was incredible - a ride of a life time!!
Obrigado
That last wave. Wow. I see Colapinto flew over from WA for that swell
Ouch - Occy, lip to the noggin @ 1.35
Pumping!
Filthy and no ski's to be seen
Looks like old mate pulling off at 2:52 was towed maybe?
they're out there... its over 3 feet
there were skis but they were keeping fairly north away from the pack for the most part...they still managed to ruin a set wave I had waited a long time for
Donny getting some absolute smokers!
When I drove past, there were at least 3 skis out and old mate with the camera at the hut! See that sort of shit and you keep on driving.
"No one enjoys those fucking retards exept the retards themselves!"
.Ghandi.
That’s my favorite Ghandi quote too Joey
That last wave, my God
And he burnt some cock from a ski. Good work bloke.
sweet
did anyone else see the footage on nine news showing all the blatant drop-ins and snaking by the 'pros'?
*sigh* yes. just as disappointed that i was watching nine news...
glowing reports of great waves ridden by the local crew despite the video of shameless drop-ins and snaking. Very GC news crew!, I would love to see them put them to shame the same way they do they hoons acting dangerously on our streets.
'Local surfers burn everyone in hazardous waves putting lives in danger, breaking boards and destroying the Goldy's rep as a surfers paradise..'
Yep Barnum and Bailey’s got nothing on this current state of affairs...
Most crowded spot on the planet now ...
The Goldie??
Place breaks a coupla dozen times a year like this and the ring leaders crack their whips and say get out of my way LoL
That last wave of Dion's, from the water
and Hippo having a nice time
Parko having a crack (from the Swellnet Snapper Rocks replays)

Yep, nobody on it, too much sweep. Looks like Parko and a couple of others had the skis dropping them back off behind the rock after each ride. Their own private sesh just out of reach of the masses.
Water angle
Another nice one (skip to 9.42)

...a little later in the day at Kirra.
(How long can a solo go?)
I give you... 7empest
Fuck yes TOOL greatest band ever.
Definitely up there.
Saw them live just before the covid madness began. Amazing gig; geez Maynards a weirdo though (great performer).
Word on the street is that the cnts are spreading their wings and alighting elsewhere for this next Hollywood swell. Please keep your cameras in your pants and be polite where you are visiting. Probs a waste of time asking but it’s worth a try.
Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!
Local grom never surfs without mouth gopro. Asked him if he ever leaves it and just enjoys the waves. Looked at me confused.
It’s not the groms I’m thinking of. It’s the behind the rock at Snapper crew taking their shit show on the road.
Surprised ND hasn't been blown out more considering how close it is.
One more vid from later in the day at Kirra.
Old mate on the last wave will be kicking himself for a long while. So close...
Wave at 1:15... classic Kirra drop-ins
lots of steamers being worn, bit fresh up there?
Yer it's a pretty nippy 21 deg in the water now but more so you got the wind chill too. I don't reckon it went over 19 deg today. Brrrrrr
That last wave…the drop into it and stance on the board was phenomenally balanced. Perfectly executed. Don’t know who it was, but absolute style master perfect wave man combo.
I can see why that wave would be so hard on backhand. Fuck that place you's can have it
