Watch: Weird Waves // Tanker Surfin'
A quarter of a century after James Albright and Peter Davis introduced the world to tanker surfing in Dana Brown's film 'Step Into Liquid', the duo are still out there on the Galveston shoals chasing outbound super tankers.
In the intervening years they've mapped the banks and developed a keener understanding of which ships will displace enough water to deliver a quasi natural wave.
Once again, the highlight of the clip isn't the subject but host Dylan Graves' relaxed delivery and the 'Life Aquatic' effects that garnish the video.

Epic. That made me happy. : )
I'm off to Google to check maps and shipping timetables.
Beavis & Butthead tribute toon
Sorry, have to say it - but that would be awesome on a foil.
Dylan's closest effort to a Sponge Bob episode. Enjoyed that more than I thought I would.
Hard not to smile. Would love to give it a shot one day.
Soooo good....................thanks.
yes agree .....happy stuff
never comment... but watched that whole thing with a smile on my dial ;-)
See now BRISBANE is skunked by surf because of the islands so why the Fck can’t Moreton bay be like this FFS!!
I’ve Supped a few Times on the Tangalooma side years ago when they went passed ...
Shin high but still remember it ...
Unlike hundreds of other dud surfs ...
The big boat that heads to Tangalooma and Moreton has hit some banks too ...
Novelty waves are the most memorable! I've seen perfect little tiny waves over that side when everything has lined up – as you said though, knee high at most. Would have still been fun on a glider.
" its got 909 feet by 157 coming outbound. Its going to be beautiful" Surf forecast notes from Texas. haha.
Sooo much fun.
Froffin'!
Loved it ...
That’s stoke summed up
So much froth. Love it. Great series and this is one of the best episodes.
10 minutes. There's a leg burner!
