Watch: Josh Kerr // Sway
In this film, Josh Kerr puts to bed all those notions about twin fins spinning out in solid waves.
In waves that are sometimes hollow, sometimes big, and sometimes both, Kerr is never less than radical while riding tiny little twins.
The list of equipment, all by Album, who produced the film, reads:
- Twinsman 5'3"
- Twinsman pintail 5'6"
- PK 5'3"
- Moonstone 5'11" (red)

oh fuck off covid so we normal folk can go chase something a little bit like that
Not wrong! First open season is gonna be a shit show though, might be better off at home haha.
This poor buggers itching to get back
Beatuiful waves and Kerrzy im glad your not doing the tour now because your free surfing is so good....congrats...loved it ...do waves get any better.
Also seems like 'Uplift' was right all along.....................................
was the first bit with the big tubes bankvaults or HTs?
Two big blue waves from 1:33 definitely HTs. Lots of Bank Vaults, too.
I volunteer to be the grump that says "get him on a proper step up". 3-4ft and he looks great, but there's some nursing and bobbling on the bigger ones.
How good is Indo?
Here here - totally agree - fair bit of nursing going on

His surfing way ahead of a lot surfers on tour. He has the uncanny sense to be in the right place on a wave all the time. Makes it look easy when it's not.
Sick.... He`s having alot of fun on those twinnies
Could be wrong but I imagine Kerrsy would take one look at those long railed twins favoured by the retroset lads and say, Ah, nahhhh
Hard to get my head around how’s he threading those big kegs on small twinnys.
Refreshing clip.
I did scroll through quickly looking for a demo for how those tiny twins went backhand.
did I miss something, I couldn't find a single wave.
I think in this case, very much archer and not arrow.
Yep, a good surfer - excellent in Josh's case - can make any board work. See Tom Curren surfing 10 foot Bawa on that tiny Tommy Peterson fireball fish.
FR much better than first time around which may be a lot to do with the fins (more keel shaped rather than upright). Very controllable and great in the tube you just have to think about where and how you turn rather than just throwing everything at it on your back foot. Very fast as well. They have legs should give em a crack.
I've got a little twin plus trailer which I love.
feels horrible backhand without the trailer though.
would like to see an elite talent like Kerrzy riding his backhand in Indo perfection.
Here is Torren Martyn in Indo on his backhand.
I'd actually like to see an average punter on their backhand to make it more relatable.
yeah, I've seen that.
interesting design, kind of a cross between keel and upright twin in terms of outline and rocker curve.
you can see the limitations of turns he can do on that board.
True - it's quite different to the face gouging Josh is doing ....
Have seen a little bit of Asher he does seem to nurse it a bit.
Very nice clip. Great vibe and good to see some style surfing. Great expression freely shared. Awesome!
Twinnies rule!
Up the twinny!
Stu about time for an update on twinnies in your illuminating grand design discourse.
Give me 3 any day.
I'll take 4 thanks.
ill take two. but 7" apart with no toe
Where to buy shares in Album....?
The most radical thing in that whole clip was at 7:30-odd where he's going that farken fast he's hit his own spray from the previous turn. No mean feat.
Wishing Mason Ho on a twin was out there with him.
2,3 or 4 fins are all great in my book. Depends on the type of wave and the mood I'm in.
Beautiful looking boards
Ashers new Albums
Beautiful looking boards, hey.
I'd love to get my hands on one of the asym fish "fascinations"... if only I had the coin!
How does he get so much hold so high up in the barrel/wave face on a twinnie?
because 50% of the fin area is on the rail
the trouble isn't hold in clear water high on the face, but rather lower, deeper in the tube near the turbulence where there isn't a central fin to hold the tail in.
100%
Lucky bugger
Great surfing and cool tunes ! Allround excellent clip!!
Jerky for all the fins, old and wet
