Adnet has gone up its own arse
Hahaha. You are the complete opposite of a polymath!!. Problem solved Guy. The answer is Lexxy Pubes!!!!
I have asked 117 first-nations people (over 6 weeks) what they would like to see in the Voice vote, some I know, most were strangers, several awkward moments with Bangladeshis or people of other racial backgrounds. [all were absolutely awesome, yes, no, or otherwise, apart from 3 drunk, (indo would regard as white-ish) couples who were arrogantly No, and thought Yes voters were fuckheads]..
As Indo predicted 'they' would like to vote Yes for a thing that benefits them. 6 No voters in total. [about 18 asked what I thought before they answered. I blanked them benignly and said I am not going to vote because I think either view is absolutely fine].
[two interesting conversations about 'what it all means', one sweet easily confused individual, wanted to know what the committee would look like, she reminded me of dutton.. another who thought we'd end up with a Voice committee full of megalomaniacs who were self-interested, a land-care specialist.. I admit, I talked these people through white-man politics, so we could agree that kinda thing is all fair-play, and simply state-of-the-art in our wold.. ]
DISCLAIMER: I'm from the Australian south.. what in the US would be called 'the north'; Tassie-blue fading to Qld-red.
- how fun.. a nothing thread to free-form on. Lex what? What's the deal? Is there ads if you don't contribute? Nice to have a nothing to shove something in. Like when you have extra expanda-foam, and shove it in a vacuous cavity. Didn't thermalben donate some more creative spoof-name ideas to this poster?
Lex, this is getting boring (following on from your other thread twelve days ago, "Ad net has passed it moral ground").
Coupla things:
1. The ads you see on the site are based on your browsing history, via Google's fancy algorithm. We have zero input as to what ads actually show.
2. If you subscribe to Swellnet - and support the last remaining Australian-owned surfcam/forecast site - you will never see another ad again. It's 22c per day. Why don't you give it a go?
I'm still haunted by those cycling underpants I saw here.
Just out of interest Ben, being the last Aussie owned surf site, what's does that feel like for you?
Good question VJ, I'm not entirely sure. I've got a half-finished article that'll go up shortly, I'll touch on the topic there (rather not give too much oxygen to a forum thread where someone's whinging about me "selling my soul").
For sure, should be a good read. There's an inclination to support the 'last Aussie' amongst us all I reckon.
As an aside, this seems to be an internet theme:
https://www.imperva.com/company/press_releases/bots-are-taking-over-the-...
Apparently half of us aren't really here!
Takes a “ special “ type of person to whinge about adds when the solution is simply 22 cents a day , not to mention other benefits from being a subscriber .
Im cool with the ads, online business need various income streams, nothing is really free, people deserve to make money for providing a product or service you want a better service or product without the ads you pay for that too, you have that choice.
But it is strange googles algorithm is so all other the place its about a 50% yes i get why you're showing me that, and a 50% WTF how did they come up with that. (and what the hell is this thing in ads call NRL?)
Wow.
Lex the contortionist pubic explorer self reaming keyboard warrior ;)
It’s a wonder you can even see any ad with ya head so far up your own arse!
- go back to writing parking tickets u muppet kook extraordinaire…

&pp=ygURU2hpdCBvbiB0aGUgbGl2ZXI%3DWhat would you actually sell you soul for, Ben? Me? Twelve hot dim-sims, and a vintage fire poker in which to assist me shelving them.
Five bucks.
How could I post that image without context (just happens to kick off one of the best Simpsons episodes ever).
There is a really easy fix for the ads. Pay for a subscription. Not only supporting the guys that run this site but you get access to loads of cams.
Hang on.
Are you saying Indo, that you are not a subscriber to SW.
Yet you smother pretty much every forum with your unabashed opinions.
The mind boggles.
Correct me if I'm wrong
I think indo is on a retainer .
Actually, Bill Gates pays us $250 every time Indo Dreaming posts anything from the Sky News library.
Hence why I'm posting this from my super yacht in the Banyaks.
I knew it !
Haha my suspicions were correct!
@thermalben Ha ha :D
@mattlock
Yeah ive been open and honest about this before, its not that im tight i mean the pointless list of TV subscriptions my wife has is crazy when we really only watch TV, TV on demand or Netflix & Youtube
Its just that i dont have any real need for long range forecast and have a decent idea anyway if look at a synoptic chart, plus i live literally maybe a minute or two max drive from my local and i even kind of like the drive by surprise factor if i havent looked at BOM or Swellnet short range, and honestly haven't looked at a cam in years and then years before that.
I work for myself, i go surfing when i want and work when i want, my restriction's are only my kids.
Indo is the only time I need a forecast, but up until the last few years i never had good enough phone signal in most areas i go anyway and now its better in main spot, im there with guest and everyone has subscription's and you dont need to ask everyone is telling you whats coming and updates.
If i was subscribing it would be more like im giving to a charity, which no offence to swellnet if im going to give to a charity or give money, i just give to my family or friend's in indo, just buying them something simple like my mates brother inlaw a new propeller for little tut tut style boat instead of them using a broken one (two blades instead of three) to them is huge and they are super stoked $30 or whatever is a bit of money to them, but to me $30 is nothing (just a past example).
BTW. I do kind of apologies for flooding the forums this week, ive literally been in bed all week with the worst flue ive had for years, bored shitless, and even when family are home i dont want then to get sick again(or daughter yet to have it) so keeping my distance when possible.
Next week back to work though so less post, today is my first day where i can tell the worst is over and getting better.
DAW wrote:Mentioning Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix in the same sentence should be a banable offence!
Really why?
You dont like one of them?
Both different sure but for me these are perhaps the two best bands of all time along with the Beatles (not that i listen to them much) but appreciated what they did.
That Simpsons clip was epic, never seen that episode. So well written, fast and funny. Thinking of lessening my comment time here, new technical computery stuff to do might be a more productive use of time, but the site is a gem and it's truly great. Hmmm, I'll try to be there for the comps and all the jokes in the comp threads, it's also rewarding to discuss significant swells in the forecaster notes (each big one is so individual), and articles like Stu's latest wind farm one are great journalism and really can teach. As can the people who post here: if I want graduate level botany chat, expert gardening or fishing, construction experience, climatology and weather articles from Craig and Ben, FR's expert eye on competitive surfing, it's all here, Great site, will keep supporting it.

Yeah its a classic, id forgotten how good they were back in the day, my daughters nine now, i will have to introduce her to the Simpsons and sit down with her and give them a bit of a re watch.
No worries, can also recommend 'Meet the Feebles' but at about 14 or 15. Only film ever to leave my eldest and his mates speechless.
Well Indo.
Maybe Ben deserves some recompense for giving you a platform to spout your schtick.
It would probably work out to be less than 2c per comment.
Maybe Stu deserves some reward from you for his excellent journalism and fr for the best comp wraps.
Maybe you should get off these forums and spend some quality time with your "restrictions".
Or maybe you are just a complete and utter tosser.
Ya kidding me??
He with the most to say but doesn't pay his way??
What an absolute disgrace.
What’s a chippy who works for himself charge as an hourly rate ?
It's the 'conservative' way, make the most noise whilst freeloading off others. He gets most of his knowledge from Sky news, owned by Newscorp/Rupert Murdoch, who spread lies and misinformation like no one else in this country yet pay no tax here. It's "learned" behavior.
Indo says he doesn't "need" to contribute because he doesn't "use" the forecasts or cams, he's got such a sage like understanding of BoM charts and lives so close to the beach and only wants a forecast in Indonesia but "others" there subscribe and he leaches off them. Top bloke eh. Spent the past week in bed crook entertaining himself posting his usual horseshit all day for free on someone's business with no qualms.
Would love to see his reaction if a customer of his decided they didn't need to pay.
SN subscription is under $10 a month FFS.
Just out of interest what do you get access to if you’re a tight-ar… sorry I mean non-subscriber?
Log out and See :-]

Nek level wrong…
How can you not love the golf scenes?
It’s one of those movies that I’m glad I watched because it is Fkn hilarious but I probably wouldn’t try and explain to my wife.
Knew a bloke that looked EXACTLY like the guru that stuck his head up his own date. Dead ringer. Plenty of mileage out of that.

Thank's Udo, its funny I get probably three to five people a year whom contact me for bookings or inquiries that say your'e Indo dreaming from Swellnet yeah, and im like yeah...and they almost always say i love your post and im sheepishly like, oh okay thanks for the kind words.
Honestly im always kind of surprised as conservative views aren't always appreciated and im not afraid to say what i think, maybe they dont go into the more political threads or something and only read the surf and Indo related stuff?
Although i was surprised a few years back in Indo there was a group with a few Swellnet users talking about different more predominant progressive swellnet posters(wont mention their names) bagging the shit out of them, and while im laughing because it was all true on the flip side im actually there defending them going yeah yeah i know but you know they mean well and looking for positives. (funny world)
There seems to be quite a few lurkers here that read these threads but dont post.
I think most people though no matter political beliefs are pretty reasonable and respectful off line, and know that a differing political or social view doesn't equal you are a bad person or the enemy, my friends and family have a whole spectrum of political/social views .
it's kind of funny too, when people see you as their enemy or something trying to bring you down just because of differing views, honestly these days its so rare to bother me here, whats more important is how the ones that really know you like friend's, family or community feel or think about you.

Hmm Ive seen it but cant remember that one, you know its so hard that age 9 trying to find movies that are age appropriate, especially when your daughter is 9 going on 16 and way to smart for her age.
A lot of the stuff on Netflix kind of goes from just real boring kid stuff to very adult content, there doesnt seem to be all that much good stuff in between like in our day (Stars wars, Goonies , Back to the future, Indiana jones type stuff)
And my wife is a bit weird she will let our kids watch almost anything horror, action, violence, bad language, its only sex scenes or explit sex talk that she goes..arghh maybe you shouldnt be watching this maybe we will try a different one.
God my boy is only a few months off four and my wife is watching horror stuff with him, and im like sayang (honey) i dont think this is a good idea for his head and will have nightmare's, but he loves it, not full on horror but still horror.
And shes like my parents let me watch it and im fine,, hard to argue with.
It sounds like a good time for your family Indo with the kids those ages. Horror and gore - yep the kids can stomach that way better than I can, they laugh at it. They're much older now though. Those ages were really good years I reckon. Yeah in terms of a watching gap there's stuff like the Harry Potter world and I suppose the Star Wars Mandalorian if you like the Sci Fi, Dune was excellent as an adult, but maybe slow for a kid. For some old school beautiful stories in anime I cannot recommend the Miyazaki stuff enough, think Nausicaa, Ponyo, Spirited Away, Howl's moving castle, Princess Mononoke - all magic.

It won’t matter one bit. Once high school hits just forget trying to impart your morals or ideals. Peers, social media and easy access to streaming means you haven’t got a chance. It all boils down to inherent personality from then on. Our house has us wanting to move out, not the other way around.
Ours found friends there who were really down to earth and lovely kids, the peer group was really funny too and we were lucky that some of the humour got shared with us. A lot of it was online and be prepared for the kids themselves to generate and share all sorts of completely random, creative & weird stuff. It's not all bullying on social media. Whereas we might have seen the GMod idiot box, today's youngsters have Skibidi toilet - pretty weird! In terms of shareable memes the kids showed us, my all time favourite was from 2017:
We made it a thing to take the closest mates snowboarding each year and now the same kids are making sure to catch up each year, going around the world snowboarding. Very satisfying.
Sounds great. I wish. Been a coont of a year for us. You wouldn’t believe it.
It's not all beer and skittles, seeds. Sometimes you may nearly lose one to Type 1 for example. But I hope you guys next 12 months is better.
We nearly lost one this year because of his own stupidity. Myself and his younger bro saved him, just, then emergency services, just, then four hours of emergency surgery did save him.
I didn’t sign up for this shit. Makes ya question yourself but inevitably it is out of your hands.
And sorry VJ. If you’ve had a close call I totally understand. Worst feeling in the world. I hope things are better in your world also.
Oh far out seeds that is so heavy, well done to you and younger bro and emergency responders and surgery medics. We don't sign up for what happens and when we sign up we don't know what will happen either. The only thing we do know is we love them unconditionally.
Yeah better - his response to the condition made him lose his way, and he has found the way back. We still share the memes.
I’m glad VJ. Once they own it they control it. Either type is quite manageable but needs discipline. It would be a tough gig.
ps nice clip. When it comes to your kids, that’s what I’m saying in my head. Or something like that
Good you could be there seeds. Many can't. Love them and hope for the best..
Can’t look at any content without ads over it
