Hey everyone, long time browser first time contributor-
For anyone who hasn’t seen the Andy Irons doco Kissed by God, there is a screening this Thursday 6-10pm at Deus Ex Machina in Camperdown (Syd), in conjunction with mental health charity Gotcha4Life and Tomorrow Man. If you somehow haven’t seen it already, perfect, it’s an absolute must-watch, and if you have (presumably 99% of you) well this will be a good chance to watch it in a bit more detail in a room full of other surfers who are also keen to get on the front foot with mental health awareness.
There is $2500 of Creatures of Leisure hardware up for grabs as raffle prizes on the night, including 3 premium 3-4 board travel coffins and a heap of other gear like board socks, dry-bags, leggies and more wax than you can poke your stick at. After the screening will be an open-forum panel discussion with Nick Carroll, Clinton Hill, Tommy Herschell and others about mental health in Australian surf communities. Popcorn will also be unlimited for the duration.
Tickets are $50 which may seem imposing, but includes a $25 donation straight to Gotcha4Life, dinner and drinks, raffle tickets, and a goodie bag to take home. So with a full belly, a full brain and some loot it could easily be the best fitty bux you ever spend.
