Opening For 1 Surfer to Join Mentawai Boat Trip
5k ....with a 25% discount already deducted !
Expensive but the owner/surf guide forgot his name a lid is a good guy not like lots of guys in the charter boat business that are just loose bra boy types.
The Indonesian captain Magswil Oscar (Capt) is a really good guy too did a few trips with him as a surf guide, he has a real good mellow honest happy nature.
Only 6 surfers on the boat is worth a few extra bucks.
Are you interested in a surf trip to the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia? Then this is the trip for you!
A bunch of friends and I have a boat booked in early February 2018. One of our friends has pulled out so we are trying to fill his spot.
Dates on the boat are 3 Feb – 15 Feb 2018.
There are 5 people locked in, and we would like to find a sixth person to join us.
So the boat we go on is called Tengirri. Check out http://www.tengirri.com/ for info, pics and videos of the boat.
Cost for the boat per person is AUD$4,944. (this is a 25% discount due to being regulars)
All food, water and beers are included in the price. Food is really good. Examples of dinners/lunches are steak, roast lamb, prawns, fish, chicken, always lots of veggies. You never go hungry. Breakfast is cereal or toast early pre-surf, then an omelette/eggs/pancakes after the morning session.
Additional costs include your airfare, spending money on transit days. No other costs on the boat at all (unless you want to go into the resort at Macaronis and get a massage or beer at the bar).
Our main objective is to find uncrowded waves, we’d rather get the captain to take us to a lesser known break if it’s empty rather than go to a name wave that has more boats there.
The 5 guys ages are between 37 and 60 odd.
A great inclusion is that the Indos who work on the boat take photos and video of your waves every day. Every night over dinner they play all the footage from that day….really fun. The captain makes a compilation video at the end of the trip. Everyone gets a vid just of themselves, and then he makes one with everyone on the trip. This is the group vid from this year’s trip:
The boat leaves from Padang, Indonesia.
If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] and I can give you more details. Happy to meet up for a coffee as well to discuss in person too if you're in Sydney, Australia, or Graham can meet you if you live in California such as San Francisco.
Cheers, Joel.
