Herc has a very long history of abusing others it started off as abuse in debate then lead to abuse outside of debate just targeting people he had grudges with.
You might not agree with a certain person views, or like them or be mates with Herc or Facto, but NO ONE deserves to be repeatedly abused/attacked especially without reason. (meaning when they aren't even interacting with them and trying to avoid them)
It's much different to abuse being thrown in a heated debate when we may be frustrated/angry/emotional, most of us the next day move on, we might think that person is a wanker or views suck or whatever, we might even give them a little niggle from time to time like me & Guy do, but most of us move on and don't set out to just abuse/attack them (which is really just bullying with the aim to wear them down or trigger a reaction)
There is a clear pattern to Herc's posting, he pops back here now and then clearly with an aim to stir up people and abuse them, even crazy enough occasionally dissing the people who run the site.
The number of post where he is non abusive, no mocking/baiting post are rare (although i didn't agree with it, he had a very long one a few months ago on indigenous issues, and a couple with Zen, which were funny to read.
As mentioned above im sure people have also noticed Stunet has had come head to head with Herc, Stunet calling out what he says as BS even more personal offline stuff, so really when you even come head to head and abuse the people running a site, what do you expect.
BTW. You may not like me or my views, but i dont constantly attack or belittle people, if you feel I've crossed some line with a post, send Swellnet an Email with the post details (thread and date/time) to have them review it and delete it if need be.
If we are in debate, and i say something you don't like, by all means call me out, even abuse me call me a waker or redneck or whatever, im cool with that, but please just let it go the next day, don't keep on abusing me or down right trolling and baiting me trying to trigger or wear me down, i don't deserve it and neither does anyone else.
In regard to anyone here (other than Herc & Facto), there is no one here that i personally have any real issues with or hate, even if our political or social views are polar opposites, if i happen to bump into anyone here say in Indo and it comes up somehow we post on Swellnet, you know what everything said here doesn't matter to me, I will even shout you a Bintang and share a wave with you, but i will also try to avoid talking politics/social issues (as i do with friends and family), i can't promise we will end up liking each other or whatever, but well im not going to totally judge you based on things said here. ( i don't expect the same though, that's up to you)
In regard to Facto, first look above in this thread for classic Facto run of post (19 JUL 2017 at 6:30PM, 6:32PM, 6:33PM) three post in a row using three of his old profiles. (talkingturkey, Dale -Cooper, Shatner'sBassoon)
Ask yourself why he did this?
What was the point?
My guess is it's a power thing, to make his view seem like it has support and more clout.
Anyway much of the above is the same deal with Facto, he even admitted it the other day that he is not willing to enter civil debate with myself and a few others and we only deserve the trolling/belittling/mocking etc (not to those exact words but something pretty similar, it's in that thread "Source of Covid-19" if you want to see the exact wording)
Personally i see that as a weakness to attack the person instead of proving them wrong in a debate, especially when you are claiming others are dumb and you are clever.
If you cant be bothered with someones shit or views, then the other alternative is just to ignore them.
BTW. If they are temporary banned and pop up here again, myself im going to do my best to avoid any interaction with them I strongly recommend others that have run ins with them to do the same.
Anyway personally im going to try pulling my head in a little and avoid conflict and try to tone things down a little, it's actually something id already consciously been trying to do (that other night was the exception where i lost control of my emotions) anyway maybe i need to try harder.

I'd be surprised if they are banned, probably just taking a break from the site, I do it all the time, particularly last year with the likes of Vic Local and Facto. If they did get banned, well, they bought it on themselves really.

Forums here get a little loose sometimes but for me proper behaviour goes beyond not abusing or trolling people. I find sometimes the most outrageous things are said here on very sensitive issues like race as a "discussion starter" and when people who may have had a lifetime of negative experience on that issue understandably (IMO) erupt they are called unreasonable. This scenario has played out on numerous occasions here. Personally, I have always found the original "discussion starters" way more offensive than anything that has followed.
There is also the situation where someone knows the triggers that will cause some people to erupt / react in a negative way and will poke and prod on a semi regular basis in the hope of getting a desired reaction, and for what motive? I'm not taking piss taking here.
I watched the exchange live the other night between known combatants and IMO both were equally complicit. Just how many times must a bear be prodded before rightfully you get your head bitten off.

Everyone here has the right to share their views as long as it's legal or doesn't break Swellnet guidelines, the moderation of these forums is very fair and relaxed, do you really think your views are being censored?
But what people don't have the right to do is continually, insult, abuse, provoke and just bully people because you don't agree with their views.
Surely you can understand the difference between having an opinion and constant abusing/bullying someone????
