Gotta be up there. Perry Farrell maybe?
Dennis Wilson the only Beach Boy that actually surfed.
Shats...... here's a "Billy Bragg" like track from waaaaaay back when..... Excuse the nerves and clunky guitar.... I was pretty green and only learning.... Had singing down for years, but was pretty new on guitar.... I stand by the lyrics, though.....

Something special for you
Got the lyric sheet, SD? Not bad, not bad at all. A few more darts and OP shots in the recording studio though, Seasick Sheepster?
Thanks, shats..... Just another one take demo parked in the demo graveyard, like those planes in the USA desert lol.... Not going back to it... But it's fun to share....
As far as Darts and op shots and being seasick goes, you gotta realize that I'm a country bumpkin that has no idea about "slang".... I'm still wrapping my head around "gay" going from happy to homo to lame hahaha.... Now if you mean darts as in durries/scoobs and op shots as in rum..... yeah....... But I was a JD/JB/ beer man back in the day..... Rum was the devils drink - bad shit happens on rum hehehe..
"Seasick" has got me fucked lol
A stolen generation and our leader couldn't say he's sorry
Where are the weapons, John?
Funny how they change their story
Children in the sea.
Just ad GST
It goes on... On and on and on and on..
At least we got Saddam
Made the world a whole lot safer.
That's if you give a damn
Getting what your taxes pay for.
How low will they go?
The devil needs a blow
It goes on.. On and on and on and on
(chorus)
Yeah we've joined the fray
And we're filled with sorrow.
You think it hurts today.
Just wait until tomorrow (x2)
On.... On and on and on and on
How can I say to them, it wasn't me who made this snowball
Can I pray for them, hoping that the ones who lie fall.
Or would you banish me, throwing rocks at my defenses
Or keep ignoring me, sitting on your sponsored fences
On.. on and on and on and on
Or would you sing this tune as the drums of war beat in the distance.
Or would you jump the ship, changing at the slightest instance.
Or would you march with me if you knew exactly where I'm standing
Could me make this turn when the truth is all that we're depending on
On and on and on and on...
(chorus x2)
On.... on and on and on and on........
Listed with apra.....
Cool bananas.
Darts = coffin nails = durries, check; OP = rum, check; seasick = this guy:

Fuck, shats!!!!! He's my neighbour.... Own 25 acres in the valley..... Strangest looking tomato plants I've EVER seen.....

Shats a dart was always a needle in our lingo. I had a mate who did a year in WA for possession of one.
Hee hee, well that works too?! I'm sure there's been plenty of those kinda 'darts' in the recording studios of this crazy world. 'Picks' too. Dunno if it gives the actual voice any added gravitas, but?
Cool stuff Sheepy, I just got around to listening to that. I haven't put anything new up yet but you might like to have a listen to Kilminister's Confession if you haven't already. The lyrics are below.
Kilminister’s Confession
My name is Charlie Kilminister and tomorrow I must die
When the sun comes up I will stand upon the scaffold high
With six of my companions beneath the crowd’s gaze
At the end of a rope, short and strong, we will end our days
Jack Ketch will be the hangman and he’ll hang us true and well
When the sun goes down tomorrow, we’ll be on our way to hell
God doesn’t care for murderers or so the priest did say
But if I go to hell I don’t care, I already spent ten years there
I was sent to the colony of New South Wales for stealing a pound, a pound of nails
They took me from my wife and child, it’s the things a man loses that drive him wild
Out beyond the Big River, to Myall Creek I was delivered
In the heart of an aboriginal nation well beyond the limits of location
My master was Henry Dangar and I was his convict fool
I’ve known a lot of evil men but never one so cruel
He had me marched to Patrick Plains for twice times fifty on my back
Then the bastard turned me round and marched me straight back
Most of the blacks were dead already from the work of Cobban and Nunn
The few that were left hid in the bush and from the stockmen they did run
Some women and kids and a few old men took shelter at our station
They were about all that was left of a great aboriginal nation
There was a woman named Ippeta who with her husband I did share
She felt the scars upon my back, I thought she cared though her skin was black
Well Daddy was an old man and Billy but a boy
Somehow into our misery they brought a little joy
John Russell was a stockman who hated all the blacks
With George Cobban he had ridden on many great bushwhacks
He heard about the group we had at Myall Creek
Like Satan he did tempt me, like Judas I was weak
We took them out and murdered them, for no reason that I know
And when it came to Ippeta, I killed her with one blow
The power of pure evil was strong upon my mind
But still I cannot understand how I was so blind
The night is nearly over and the sun will surely rise
Soon it will be time to die with those I do despise
But one question still haunts me won’t you tell me if you can
Why Major Nunn, who did worse than me, will never hang and still is free.
My name is Charlie Kilminister and tomorrow I must die
When the sun comes up I will stand upon the scaffold high
With six of my companions beneath the crowd’s gaze
At the end of a rope, short and strong, we will end our days
Great lyrics, BB...... really....Really good.....
Yeah that soundcloud is a pretty cool thing.... I even chucked a "like" your way ;) Can't remember which track... was a while ago.....
Thanks Sheepy!
Great dramatic lyrical thematics, Blind Boy. And now for something completely different-sounding:

Pretty funny
Richard Fidler in conversation with Vic Simms and Luke Peacock as heard on Radio National. If you haven't heard of Vic Simms and appreciate a good story then I'd strongly urge sitting down and listening to this interview. Vic is a blackfella born at La Perouse, was discovered as a singer at 11-years-old, was Australia's youngest recording artist, toured with Johnny O'Keefe before his career dived and he ended up in jail. And that's where his story really takes off...
a worthy song for a worthy course, swellnut sistas
bells, kunts
Absolute crap Shatner.
Obviously a good ringing of the Bell forecast
I think i may have posted this in the past.... But hey....... Incredible lyrics..... Amazing guitar..... This song always makes me think of those I love who are no longer with me.... Makes me question alot of things.....

Saw The Damned doco the other day. A bit sad and bitter and twisted...BUT...faaark, those first few albums! Fuck! Some cool talking heads in it and all...Ian Mackaye, Keith Morris, Jello, Lemmy (who was in the band at one brief stage)...worth a look.
One of the best songs...ever!
Orright, looks good. My introduction to The Damned was via Phantasmagoria, released in '85. I raced home, whacked it on the turntable, then wondered what the fuck everyone was raving about, The Damned were shit. Took a few years before I discovered Machine Gun Ettiquette and Damned, Damned, Damned and realised they were kinda alright.
Same for The Clash, first album of theirs I bought was Cut The Crap, and it's a wonder I ever went back.
I remember they toured around 87 and we didn't go because that album was shite, the next one was worse, and Eloise, their 'gothic' chart hit, was in-between...and the gig was full of their older stuff and was pretty smoking apparently!
Bugger.
Remember this though from The Young Ones...their last hurrah?
The death of Nick Cave's son...a twin...was tragic and sadly spooky. Made me think of 'Tupelo' and the album it came off, 'The First Born is Dead'...also his novel 'And the Ass Saw the Angel'. Life's stranger and crueller than fiction at times...
not a long time between drinks
New FOALS song and album sounding sweet.
PS check out this GoPro Spherical stuff, when viewing on chrome you can fully move around the video clip using your mouse..
The new Holy Holy record is on high "rotation" on my Deezer mobile account. Really epic. And I still can't stop listening to The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream. One of my fav records of the past few years (maybe of all time).
The War on Drugs are a great band, got Zen into it on our roadtrip to the Japanese Alps earlier in the year.
Red Eyes the best for me by The War on Drugs.
Awesome album that one. Also get into one of their old or in/out members Kurt Vile.
Alright, time for some discussion on what yr all listening too. My iTunes inventory is getting a little stale so I'm up for some inspiration.
Currently loving The Drones' album "Havilah".. incredible songwriting and some of the best recorded guitars and drum I've heard in a long time. I'm a little late to the party with this album but it's on high rotation at the moment and will probably stay there a while. I've seen these guys live once (Fowlers, Adelaide) and fortunately they're incredible on stage too. Can't wait to see them again.
