Northern NSW and South East Queensland Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 11th December)

Best Days: No good days

Recap

A small junky NE windswell broke across both the Gold Coast and North Coast yesterday, while a there was still some traces of the S/SE groundswell in the water during the morning.

This morning the surf is tiny across most beaches, with the odd 2ft set out of the NE at north-east facing beaches under morning N/NW winds. The windswell should persist into the afternoon, while a distant S/SE groundswell should offer infrequent 1-2ft sets at south swell magnets on the North Coast from midday onwards.

This week (Dec 11 - 13)

Unfortunately running into the middle of December we've got no significant swells on the cards at all. The coast won't go totally flat with tiny levels of background E'ly swell expected to keep open beaches topped up with small to tiny waves.

This weekend onwards (Dec 14 onwards)

Small levels of trade-swell are expected through all of next week generated by the weakest of easterly ridges in the Coral Sea. At this stage the size of this ridge isn't expected to top 2ft but we'll keep an eye on it for any further intensifications.
