Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 2nd December)
Best Days: Wednesday, Thursday morning, Friday morning, early Saturday
Recap
Fun levels of S'ly swell broke across the coast all weekend with the mornings offering the cleanest and best waves.
A small NE windswell was pushing down the coast today with light NW winds early, but these have already given into sea breezes.
This week (Dec 2 – Dec 6)
Small levels of NE windswell will persist across the coast over the coming days, mixed in with a slightly stronger and less consistent NE groundswell.
This groundswell is being generated by a broad fetch of strong to gale-force E'ly winds in the Tasman Sea (pictured right), aimed mainly towards the Mid-North NSW Coast. The swell from this low should arrive through Wednesday and build to an inconsistent 2ft+ during the afternoon before easing from an inconsistent 2ft Thursday morning.
Conditions will be best later Wednesday and early Thursday morning with a moderate to fresh offshore, while a S'ly change Friday should kick up a small increase in S'ly swell.
This weekend (Dec 7 onwards)
There's nothing major on the cards for the weekend besides a fading S'ly swell. Get out early Saturday for any chance of a wave.
The longer term outlook remains void of any major swell, but we'll review this Wednesday.
