Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 27th November)
Best Days: Early afternoon Thursday, Saturday morning, Sunday morning
Recap
Monday's messy swell eased back and cleaned up considerably yesterday with a light offshore breeze and clean 3-4ft waves at most beaches. Today the swell has eased back to a smaller 2-3ft with morning offshores, but sea breezes have since developed and will strengthen further into the afternoon.
This week and weekend (Nov 27 – Dec 1)
We'll continue to see the E/SE swell fade through tomorrow as a small NE windswell also kicks up under fresh NE winds overnight. Conditions will be average early but a W'ly change will kick in during the day, and timing this will be the best time to surf.
Come Friday a strong S'ly change will kick up a low quality windswell with poor S'ly winds, while a stronger S'ly groundswell should arrive through Saturday from a fetch of strong S/SW winds pushing up from below the state. Winds will be better and SW early Saturday, but Sunday looks the best with a morning NW'ly and easing S'ly groundswell favouring south swell magnets.
Longer term (Dec 2 onwards)
A small NE windswell is due Monday with a possible larger increase Thursday but we'll have to review this all again on Friday.
