Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Wednesday 20th November)

Best Days: Early Thursday

Recap

Not much to see the last day or so with small average surf and onshores today.

This week (Nov 20-22)

A fun new SW swell is due across Clifton tomorrow to 2ft+ or so, generated a polar front that's currently weakening to our south. The morning will be best with a light variable and likely offshore wind, while as the swell eases Friday fresh E/SE winds are expected creating poor conditions.

This weekend (Nov 23-24)

Poor surf and weather is expected over the weekend as a low pressure system stalling over us, starts to drift back to the east aiming a fetch of strengthening E/SE winds into us (pictured right).

This will kick up a stormy 3ft or so of windswell Sunday but with fresh to strong SE winds. The swell will start to ease into next week as the low starts moving further east and weakening but fresh winds from the eastern quadrant will keep conditions well below par.

Longer Term (Nov 25 onwards)

There's nothing major on the cards for the longer term outlook besides small and weak levels of S/SW swell mid-late next week with onshore winds. We'll look at this again Friday though.
