South Australian Forecast (issued Wednesday 20th November)

Best Days: Monday morning, Tuesday morning

Recap

A brief period of offshore winds created fun waves across the South Coast yesterday morning but by mid-morning the onshore was up and ripping into the small swell. Today poor conditions have continued with a junky windswell on the South Coast under strong S'ly winds.

This week (Nov 20-22)

Poor surf will continue over the coming days as a surface low moving slowly west from Tasmania stalls over Bass Strait and aims a fetch of strengthening S'ly winds into us (pictured right). This won't amount to much until Saturday when some moderate S'ly swell should fill in across the South Coast. Conditions will be poor though with fresh S/SW winds.

This weekend (Nov 23-24)

As touched on above, the weekend won't offer any quality surfing with onshore winds and moderate amounts of swell. The Mid Coast will remain effectively flat as well ruling out all options.

Longer Term (Nov 25 onwards)

A slight improvement in conditions is expected on Monday as a surface trough approaches from the west, swinging winds E'ly as the S'ly swell drops from 2-3ft or so. Tuesday looks even better with morning NE winds but the swell will be small and not have much push behind it.

Beyond this poor waves are expected into the end of the week as strong S'ly winds develop and no real meaningful swell makes it's way towards us.
