Masih's mirror sees a blatant ugly exploitation of Hijab that haunts her forever.

Seems obvious that someone needs to justify their own selling out of religion.
Over compensating and down so low now desperate for another darkside offer.
How low does one sink in such a small space of time. 1million fans more I'm sure!

Big noticeable difference is that Jacinda Ardern can look proudly in the mirror.

maybe it's just not so black and white, old mate tawhidi wasn't overly impressed, and it was a bit nauseating when all the news anchors jumped on the bandwagon.

No doubt there's muslms that thought it was an amazing show of respect, and there's a heap that thought what a heap of honkey tokenist bullshit. Or, that non muslims shouldn't wear the hijab at all, I know of one non muslim girl being told to take hers off, nothing to do with Christchurch, it was an aceh thing.

Who would've thought...muslims aren't a big bunch homogeneous clones....like we're lead to believe...

Each to their own I guess...

I bet she was 'informed' one way or another though.

You should watch the four corners special on Christchurch indod. The cyber terrorism expert on there basically echoed many of the thoughts you got slammed for on here. Maybe you just went 'too soon' as they say...

Well that's even worse if she knows what it represents to millions of women, but still goes ahead and wears it.

To be honest i was really surprised to see it worn considering the circumstances and then surprised not to see more controversy within the media around her wearing it.

Yeah Sypkan saw that episode, yes basically experts said he should have been picked up, at some stage and should have been monitored, but wasn't because NZ don't have the system/resources in place.

@Andy

Hmmm that article leaves out a few big points.

Yes in some countries women have to wear head or face coverings by law, obviously the most extreme form of oppression (by the state)

But there is also other levels and types of oppression for example.

Even in places like Indonesia, a family may force a child to wear a hijab, then even at an age where there might be some choice, there is an expectation by family, friends, society to continue wearing it.

If they do not this can cause problems within the family who may believe if she does not wear it, it will bring shame to the family.

Then in society by not wearing it again she will be judged and can even be viewed as easy which can bring unwarranted attention from males or a disrespect. etc

Yeah off course many women wear it for other reasons and feely and you are more likely to hear from them because they have the freedom to share their view, but many that don't have a choice also don't have the freedom to share their view.

Personally i have no issues with hijabs i even think it looks feminine, but people should still understand that world wide for many its a symbol of oppression at some level, its not just something that should be thrown on for the day thinking you are showing respect by doing so.

Yeh yeh yeh, I get it. Back off with the aggro, leave the fantasy to Game of Thrones. Get your feet on the bloody ground and look at what is actually happening. Lock the wormhole in the garage. Enough shit is happening right here, right now. We don’t need to import anymore, we don’t need to recycle shit from another era. Take a deep breath, step back and face the deepest reality of all. 60,000 years deep.

“This sovereignty is a spiritual notion: the ancestral tie between the land, or ‘mother nature’, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who were born there from, remain attached thereto, and must one day return thither to be united with our ancestors. This link is the basis of the ownership of the soil, or better, of sovereignty. It has never been ceded or extinguished, and co-exists with the sovereignty of the Crown.”
Uluru Statement from the Heart

And what happened? Malcolm Turncoat rejected it. Didn’t think it was desirable, not sure how it would work, would never pass a referendum. And anyway Lord Moloch raised an eyebrow at its mention which meant it was instantly fucked. No more possible than legalising recreational drugs or having a workable energy poicy or reducing the corporate rooting, sorry rorting, of the financial system. Shit give people that kind of stuff and next thing you know they will expect to find water in the rivers, native animals in the bush, breathable air in the cities. Plastic free beaches. Unrealistic shit. Totally unrealistic.

UNTIL TODAY! Until Jesus got on the hotline to Scomo. “ On your knees my son, listen to my command or I will loose the hounds of Moloch on you and yours and verily will they uncover much that is sordid and which might profitably be placed upon the leading fold of their daily parchments. Thou shalt honour thy indigenous bretheren within thy Budget! “

And so it was that, rising from his knees, he decreed to those in attendance upon him to forthwith collect the said papyrus containing the Budget that he might make such amendments as his Lord Jesus had ordered. Thus it was that he set aside the sum of $7 million for the purpose of investingating the possibility of a feasability study into the potential pathways by which a special enquiry might be held to consider the question of the circumstances under which it may, or may not, be possible to grant indigenous people a voice in governance.

$7 million dollars? They spend more than that on upgrading the Parliamentary shitters. They spend more than that flying Senatorial fuckwits of to the annual neo-Nazi boot boys’ congress. They spend more than that on Cabinet lunches. And Scomo? Scomo? Scomo that motherfucking parasitical fear mongering piece of crap spent ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS on a publicity stunt on Xmas Island. Well Xmas is over arsehole. We the people are coming to kick your arse so hard you will be lucky if you land in this hemisphere! GOODBYE, GOODBYE, YOU’RE LEAVING US GOODBYE! And good fucking riddance.

It wouldn't be so bad if Blindboy mocked all religions but he would never mock islam, it's off limits even though the ideology's of islam are even further away from the moral social beliefs he has shared than Christianity.

GuySmiley's picture
GuySmiley's picture

Now when you refer to “Islam’s ideology” as you have above you are generalising as it has nothing to do with the religious practice of moderate muslims. Just like christians can’t be labelled pedophiles because of the actions of lowlife scum like Pell. Likewise christians can’t all be tarred with the same brush as the teachings of priests that saw 10s of thousands (possibly millions) die of aids in the 3rd world because condoms were peached against as every sperm is sacred. Greater evil?

A bit slow on the uptake there Indo. Muslims are a minority in Australia who are regularly subjected to discrimination, harassment, abuse and violence. So no, I do not mock Islam, even though I probably have less respect for its beliefs and culture than for Christianity. Christianity is part of the Australian mainstream. They do not suffer discrimination, harassment, abuse and violence so when they are ridiculous, they are fair game. If you read a bit more carefully you will see that it was not Christianity I was mocking. It was out idiot PM who believes Jesus talks to him directly ........ when it is only an echo of his own opinions.

So what about Scientology? or what about Jehovahs witnesses?

Would you also refrain from mocking them?...they are both minority groups,..

So what numbers do things need to get to before Islam is fair game to mock like Christianity?

Or how long does it need ti have been here for?

Im cool with criticising even mocking religion but do it consistently or honestly Christianity and Islam, Judaism, Scientology deserved to be mocked..maybe Hinduism for just being totally unbelievable and the cow thing....only religion i have any respect for is Buddhism but that just me.
