You ever been overseas Sheepy ?

a problem cannot be solved at the same level it was created from- albert einstein- but what the fuck would he know????????
e=mc, squared-make some sense albert, for christ sakes-better leave religion out of it, bloody judean people's front!!!!!
Anyone catch the 70th anniversary parade and speech by Xi Xinpiing today?
'China will remain committed to peaceful development' and 'China will never seek hegemony or expansion'.
Nothing says peace more than a parade of inter-continental ballistic missiles:)
Yeah that was quite a sight to behold alright. How's those missiles they've got that apparently the U.S. have even declared to be indefensible?!? No matter who you believe, we're all only one fruit loop away from a firey end. Every day is a bonus anyway, but with this shit cooking away, it makes everyday 10 fold :-)
Imagine if china or any country for that matter conducted their foreign policy in the same way that America and its vassal states do. I'm happy for them to parade their toys as long as they maintain their history of avoiding meddling in foreign nations militarily. While they are, America, Australia etc are out there actually using their weapons to kill more innocent civilians and do more damage.

Err, you mighta forgotten Tibet there mate with reference to China behaving itself.
Err, nah I didnt mate why would you think that?

My apologies manbat, I'd forgotten until sheepdog kindly pointed it out that history only starts with WW1.
As you were.
Nah your right brau an ongoing territorial dispute at this scale illustrates a foriegn policy comparable to Vietnam, cambodia, laos, iraq, Afghanistan, lybia, syria, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. Thanks for pointing out the flaw in my post.
.

I'm certainly not whinging about people fleeing the hell, but what's the answer to the current state of affairs in Syria/Iraq etc?! Not what should of been done years ago & why it's got to this state, but what about NOW. Having a cup of tea & a chat with the likes of ISIS isn't really an option is it? From the comfort of our lounge rooms in this mainly healthy safe country, watching this mass murder unfold on our flat screen TVs, surely we can't stand by & allow this horror to go on with political dialogue alone.........War is the last resort, yes innocent people die, but what is the cost of doing nothing?!?

The answer is for the US and its proxies to withdraw completely from the region, withdraw their militaries, put an end to providing funding, weapons, training and fighters to questionable militia, withdraw ngo's that have been in place in the region to undermine the local politics. That's one solution but the US won't withdraw until Syria is destroyed. Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen and the north African states in America's sights will remain a quagmire while the US maintain their interests there.
The Russians are involved in Syria again now and hopefully they will have some effect.

Interesting Manbat. The reality is complicated for sure. Even if this actually eventuated, innocent people will still be getting slaughtered in their own homes. It's pretty hard to grasp the reality from over here, unless of course one has had first hand experience.......
It is, its totally impossible for us to have any scope of what it must be like, I personally can't imagine many things that would be more terrifying than to be living in a war zone.
So now you want to go to war in Syria ?
What is the big 'event' about to go down in Syria ? Russia ?
I'm not sure what sheepy is referring to barbs but certainly looks like Russia is about to go down in syria
Ummm, you didn't actually say anything Sheepdog.
You did act as though you in fact work for ASIO , and had some high level secret information that you couldn't divulge to the Swellnet Military Intelligence Community.
Sorry mate, could you repeat what you said ?
I seem to have missed it.
Still too highly classified ?
So you were talking about Russia ?
Sorry mate, just the way you never actually stated it and the fact that virtually everyone already knew this , I thought you were referring to some unknown information.
Tony Barber's and Manbats comments straight after should let you know how Shhhhhh the whole Russian thing is.
OIL ? thats just part of the picture....The Syrians will probably do OK in OZ..However sadly this is not always the case with refugees who come here, Afghan refugees have a very poor employment outcomes in Oz with just 9 per cent in work five years after settlement. That cant be good,,,,Russians ? wot about the Chinese ? they say one out of 6 of the worlds peoples are Chinese, there are six in my family and im pretty sure my shifty little bro Bing Lee may have some Chinese in him.
Prothero, it may be Bing Lee but my guess it would be Kevin?
.....you are right Zenagain
sheepy, oils aint oils sol, not just oil, but ideology, religious indoctrination is very pervasive and silently runs below the surface, also, the beatles classic, back in the ussr, been doing shit in syria for years, do not want it to become common knowledge.
this full moon on sept 28? always been said to be a big game changer
but some things cannot be undone
hawks 3 times premiers
cowboys win first ever nrl premiership
headline today, "australia opens it's doors" small print, ever so slightly- how will the planet and it's electromagnetic resonance react to the land of oz, being stingy???????
energy trail looks quite daunting.
Manbat (by the way, awesome user name) that was a fascinating read and a real eye opener. Thankyou.
wow! secret agent sheepdog trumped by secret agent manbat. that shit should be all over the media. now I see why it's all so complicated.
battles for power are always about energy...and the US of course
Murdoch has an interest in genie oil and gas which has oil exploration and pipeline interests in Syria so you won't hear anything other than pro bombing from most of the mainstream media.
y'all realise that this little corner of the globe has been a hot zone since well before the US became a global player, and will remain so whether the US (and we) are involved or not?
It's a little condescending toward the Arabs, Kurds, Turks, Jews, Russians, Iranians, and other Star Wars bar characters to assume that all of this is only due to the malign hand of the USA / The West don't you think?
There's so many layers, actors, double-dealings, unlikely match-ups, unsettled historical grievances in this piece to keep it all going for years. The Russian involvement is now fairly open, but I'd bet that they've been there for as long as anyone. The Iranians have been in the fight since the start. The Gulf States are in up to their necks, on both sides of the fence. ?Turkey? The most to lose (Kurdistan) and the most to gain (Asad regime collapse)... Israel? hmmm
I'd suggest that maybe the US isn't the biggest dog in this fight. And maybe ISIL actually was the black swan that no one really predicted. Sometimes things really escalate...
A student, a decent young woman, dragged away in front of all... 2 months and she would've graduated.... This is the modern Australia....
