WINDSAT

Quikscat was undoubtably the best - I'm not that convinced that Ascat is anywhere as useful a tool (and am not even sure if it's particularly accurate either), and Windsat hasn't really been impressed me much over the years. There's a few other tools out there (ie CMISS cloud drift winds) but Quikscat was without doubt the leading wind verification tool. Hopefully one of the new weather satellites to be launched in the coming years will offer a decent alternative.

Main problem with Windsat is the non-realtime format! The data is always at least 24 hours old or greater - no good for dynamic weather patterns.
Anyone have any thoughts/comments on this and how it compares with regards to accuracy/reliability etc again ASCAT and the even better, but no defunct QUIKSCAT?
