Less than 2 weeks to go, but no destination yet!

Hey crystal ballers

I'm leaving for the tropics in less than 2 weeks, but haven't bought tickets yet! Destination is either Rote in eastern indo or Cokes in the Maldives.

Been waiting and watching to see if any big swells come on the horizon, but have to book in the next few days. Nothing great has come up yet. I can now see Rote thanks to the 14 day forecast, but have no idea on the Maldives.

Anyone want to have an educated punt on waves from the 20th onwards? i've seen some epic forecasting by donweather in other threads for Maldives

cheers

Long range outlook for the Maldives looks unreal (early days though!), with a large Indian Ocean high setting up camp quite north in latitude, in the wake of a strong LWT progressing over WA. This could set up a solid ESE swell for the Maldives region. Also suggests a quieter period for the Indo region.

Look forward to seeing how this pattern progresses.

froth levels rising!!! cheers ben. I've been looking at older posts about it pumping, gagging to to be there!

How far out could you be confident at predicting that places like Cokes and Sultans etc would be at least 3-4ft or more?

Still a ways to go.. I haven't been watching this region in recent weeks so need to monitor the daily trends. Let's take a look tomorrow. But for now my money would be on the Maldives over Indo.
