I doubt Elon is worried the article quite literally says they use Elons rockets to launch their satellites.

But yeah Ukraine might be wise to use another service with Musk aligned with Trump and the uncertainty around things.

BTW. For a while Elon was providing free Starlink to Ukraine before USA government started picking up the tab

haha, in all seriousness, reading christopher hitchens' 'why orwell matters' now, is contemplative, instructive and timely. it's a cheap paperback, so little lost if it don't yield much for the reader. bible cheap, you might say.

i.e. how people choose to view things > (greater than) the things themselves, and inevitably this proportionality changes the world, even if only reinforcing pre-existing bias. super basic idea, worth drilling down on with orwellian colonial/expat context, when there's so much fluff and ephemera doing our nuts in.

What sort of condition will these guys be in when they get back to earth ? That long in a weightlessness environment must have some effect on the body and the mental anguish they would be going through thinking about if they will ever get back to earth and family . Sure they get trained for all this but that’s a long time to be left up there .

"The Musk Watch DOGE Tracker allows anyone to easily cut through the spin about DOGE and see how much savings can be verified. It also allows the public to go deeper and see what is being cut and who is being impacted. It will be updated weekly."

Yeah and im sure thats reliable.

BTW. Iet's just say it's true and the saving's have been inflated, all that means is they aren't cutting enough fat.

You cant have it both ways, and say they are inflating the savings but also cutting too much.

What you are basically trying to say is the USA government runs very efficiently and corruption free, so there couldn't possibly be billions in wastage and misspending being found.

We all know that is just utterly ridiculous, we all know that even in Australia our government waste huge money as do state government's and council's, they do so because it's not their money so they dont give a shit and there is corruption in looking after mates or organisations that they aligned with or get voter support from etc

The reality is you just dont like who is in charge of finding the wastage, nothing else.

BTW. looking at the website it seems like one figure is DOGE recommendations of cuts and then the other is the actually cuts made with the savings.

So its misleading to start with, DOGE says we can save this much if all recommendations are followed, the government then goes, hmmm yeah we agree on that one but not this one and implements the cuts they feel are needed, and then you would expect some are still going through a deeper process of investigation to see if it could or should be cut or not.

I don't have any problem with a government trying to cut wasteful spending, why would I? Nor am I even close to saying that the US government runs smoothly and corruption free. Not sure how you extrapolated that from what I said. Oh, yes I do, and it's probably related to you seemingly not having any problem with huge funding cuts to education (amongst other things).

Plenty of teachers over there that voted for Trump, despite him saying that he'd gut education, are very unhappy right now. I guess if they were better educated in the first place then they probably would've done more than vote on the price of eggs.

What i try to do with any issue is go see what both sides of the media are saying, i will read Murdoch media but also go to the ABC or the Guardian etc

Or in the USA case Fox and say CNN

I then get both takes and a complete picture.

I know you guys dont do this, which is why you often dont understand issues properly.

I havent looked into these education cuts that deep, I heard some talk on the radio and a quick google comes up with some explanations

"Why the Department of Education is going to RIP
Time to take a business-minded approach to education: cut waste, demand results and introduce real accountability for results"

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/why-the-department-of-education-is-going...

BTW. it would be very hard to gut the education department in the USA as the federal government only provides 8% of funding.

Im not saying dont also go read more neutral middle of the road sources.

I often do that too.

But if you want completely different perspective's on something and the whole picture you have to sometimes go to the media totally at both ends of the spectrum.

But yeah lots of people dont like to do it, they wont even touch media they know wont confirm what they want to hear.
