Dirty down south cams
Also wondering about this. They're all looking a bit grubby these days!
How about that, I thought it was my aging eyes. A bit grubby is an understatement, and it's been this way for some time.
Soon is delightfully vague, perhaps I could set my automatic payments to soon!
It might be time to clean the Middleton, Day Street and Goolwa cameras again, its like looking through a thick fog and has been for a while.
New automated cleaning system is working a treat across our Vicco cams, we are hoping to schedule the SA upgrade ASAP.
In the meantime someone clean them please

Sounds like they're onto it, the southerlies have been the issue piling salt on the cams.
They're rolling out an automated cleaning system across their network, with SA cams coming up soon.
Yay
That's all good, but when you pay for a service, they need to be cleaned at least, minimum once a week.
Hi, the cams have been misty for awhile now.
Everyone pays there sub.
The houses the cameras are mounted on get benifits so you think the owners of the houses could clean the lenses.
Not hard.
Thanks.
Salty cameras have been an issue for the twenty three years I've been running Swellnet. The main problem is that once cleaned (as the Victor cams were just a few days ago), it only takes twenty minutes of onshore winds to re-salt them up again. Also, whilst property owners are always happy to assist with a clean, they're not always around to do so.
We have built an in-house automated cleaning system that is being installed progressively around the country at the moment, of which our technicians were at Victor a few weeks ago (in association with an upgrade of the Day Street/Goolwa cams and a number of other technical upgrades across the entire SA network). However, one of the crucial parts we needed wasn't available from our supplier so it's not operational yet. I'm sending them back in the next few weeks to finish the work.
have you considered moving the cameras far inland? would solve the problem I'd have thought.
Hey guys
Noticed the Southern SA cams are a bit grubby, do you know when/if they're scheduled for a clean?
Be great to see that I'm not missing out on anything while I'm stuck at work.
Cheers
