Trouble with fin for a hull?!

Hi all,

I've an 8'0 CJ Nelson Outlier. I've surfed it with a Greenough 4a 9.75, 8.0 and a 9.25 from this crowd - https://www.fantasticacid.com/product/volan-flex-fin-medium-base-9-25

The board works great at local pointbreaks and I'm regularly getting that "ball-bearing" feeling where each swoop and turn seems to build on the speed from the turn before UNTIL on a bottom turn the board seems to suddenly flip out of the water over the inside rail - the board ends up upside down and I end up flat on my face. The feeling is similar to when I used to windsurf and if you used a fin that was too big you'd get too much lift and the board would similarly - the fin seemed to want to jump up out of the water.

My first thought was that the fin was too big but same seems to happen with the 8.0 inch fin and reading up on hulls people seem to surf them with huge fins all the way up to 11.0 inches...

Ooh, almost went there, looks a nice shape. Love my hull, 9.5 flex fin on a 6'9". Big fins work on them.
