Does the BOM prediction of sudden warming over Antarctica mean bad surf around Australia?

"The air above Antarctica is suddenly getting warmer – here's what it means for Australia
Each spring, winds circling the South Pole weaken. If they weaken enough, they can actually reverse – causing rapid warming."

Hi Ben, why don’t you have a surf forecast for Lombok? Going there in a week and a half so I have to sort of estimate it based on Uluwatu?? Is that the best place to use as an estimate? Cheers Trev

Can anyone please explain why Manly becomes closeouts town under the influence of a southerly swell? I’ve heard that it’s because of the swell direction, but that just made me more confused as Manly faces east...?!
Thanks you!!

Fellow West Aussies, are we going to get any waves from Cyclone Veronica in Perth or is it too far up north?\

More of a “be a-tiny-bit-aware" type thing...

Several of the long range models are showing TC Trevor swinging back around in our general direction mid-late next week.

It should be pointed out that the system marker indicated by my red arrow (i.e. the little green circle) is the projected location Tuesday 26 March, and there is a tonne of uncertainty associated with projecting such a system's path anything more than ~24 hrs in advance (but especially a week in advance!). Not to mention by that point it’ll almost certainly be a storm, not a TC.

Might have to put a set of binoculars on that cam to see Goolwa from there.

Hi all,

I'm going to be in Paihia for 5 days after Christmas. Does anyone know what Paihia is like for surfing or is it worth travelling somewhere in close proximity for better surf?

Cheers,

Sam

G'day legends just after some advice for Bali as Im heading over there on the 23rd of Oct for 2 weeks.
How accurate are the models for say Uluwatu? Says it'll be 6 ft there a few days but imagine thats more the exposed spots such as nusa dua?
Also some days has winds from the South/southeast, will this write off alot of the spots or is getting in for the dawny still a possibility?
First timer so a bit green and appreciate any tips :)
Cheers

Well its Tuesday 18th on the sunshine coast....apparently I am supposed to be looking at some clean 2ft + and even some 3ftr's .....meanwhile in the real world I am standing on the sand at bokarina beach looking at about 1ft of ene bumpy windswell at about 6 45 am with the only difference between Sunday arvo and this morning being that it is a light offshore not screaming onshore wind......nope nothing surf able to see here...

Hi All. Heading to Club Med Kani on the weekend and wondering where I could find the best forecast for the North Male Atoll? Want to surf around Sultan’s, Jails, Ninja’s area.
Thanks
