Recently Swellnet ran an interview with Andrew Pitt, the co-ordinator of Cronulla's forthcoming 'sand slug'. The sand slug will be created when dredged sand is dumped in a small area 250 metres offshore from The Wall at Cronulla. If all goes to plan the slug will work like a bombora, refracting swells that pass over it and causing peaks to break shoreward of it.

We'll get more peaks and less closeouts.
