Recap

Large, onshore surf across all regions yesterday, continuing today.

This week and next (Sep 7 - 13)

One day closer to a drop in the winds and cleaner conditions across the South West. That’s what today brings us, with tomorrow due to remain onshore but with less strength. Gusty W/SW winds will ease through the day, while Perth and Mandurah should see morning E/NE tending NE winds, variable early afternoon ahead of sea breezes.

Size wise, the current large swell energy is due to ease but still be 3ft in Mandurah, 2-3ft across Perth.

Into Sunday, the South West will finally see winds ease and tend offshore from the S/SE-SE, while Perth and Mandurah should see morning E/SE winds. There’ll likely be be some lump in the ocean still, but a good reinforcing pulse of mid-period SW swell is due, generated by a healthy frontal system that’s currently south-west of us.

Good 8ft+ surf is due across Margs with 2-3ft surf in Mandurah, 2ft in Perth, easing Monday with light E/SE winds due across all locations, shifting SW and freshening through the day thanks to a trough clipping us.

Winds will tend back S/SE on Tuesday along with a moderate sized, reinforcing mid-period SW swell.

The source will be weak, trailing frontal activity moving in behind the frontal system linked to Sunday’s swell. The South West should pulse back to 4-6ft with 1-2ft waves in Mandurah and Perth, easing Wednesday.

Wednesday looks cleaner, along with Thursday thanks to morning E-E/NE winds on the former, E/SE on the later ahead of a S/SW change.

Longer term, another moderate sized mid-period SW swell is due later week/weekend along with favourable winds. More on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
