Forget the weekend, surf next week
Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 29th November)
Best Days: Monday morning, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings across the South West swell magnets
Recap
A small lift in swell yesterday and today to 3-4ft across the South West windy and bumpy yesterday, cleaner today with lighter offshore winds. To the north the surf has remained tiny.
This week and weekend (Nov 30 – Dec 6)
We'll see the surf starting to ease off from tomorrow, though winds will still be a bit of an issue, gusty out of the E/SE-SE with dropping sets from 3ft.
Sunday will be cleaner with a moderate E/SE offshore, but the surf small to tiny and likely only 2ft+ max on the swell magnets. Perth and Mandurah will be tiny to flat all weekend.
Our new inconsistent but fun sized W/SW swell for Monday is still on track with no change to the forecast size or local conditions.
This and Tuesday are the pick of the period, with the swell due to fill in Monday and reach an infrequent 5-6ft across the South West swell magnets, 2ft on the sets in Mandurah and 1-2ft in Perth.
A moderate E/SE offshore is expected, giving into afternoon sea breezes, with fresh E/NE tending variable N winds on Tuesday across the South West as the swell eases from the 4-5ft range, tiny to the north and with W sea breezes.
Wednesday looks a little smaller again, but a small reinforcing W/SW groundswell is due into the afternoon, though not likely topping 3ft to possibly 4ft in the South West, tiny to the north.
Conditions should be clean across the magnets with an E/NE offshore in the morning, giving into sea breezes, similar Thursday a the swell eases.
Longer term there's nothing significant on the cards. A mid-period W/SW swell is likely on the weekend, but below 6ft and with what could be onshore winds. Therefore make the most of Monday and Tuesday across the states swell magnets. Have a great weekend!
