Recap
Onshore winds kicked up a poor quality windswell yesterday while today winds are more to the east along with a new, inconsistent W/SW groundswell that’s now reaching 2-3ft on the sets. Conditions are very wind affected though and only favourable for some spots.
This weekend and next week (Nov 30 - Dec 6)
Today’s W/SW groundswell is due to peak this afternoon and ease back through tomorrow with leftover 2ft sets across Clifton under a NE tending fresh E/NE breeze.
Unfortunately stronger E-E/NE winds will kick in on Sunday creating terrible conditions across Clifton along with some background SW swell to 2ft+, while the local windswell due through the day now looks unlikely.
This is thanks to the low linked to it not drifting as far south as it was forecast on Wednesday.
Winds are due to go more N/NE into the late afternoon/evening still so keep an eye out for a fun late surf across the region.
On Monday, a long-range, inconsistent W/SW groundswell is expected to be in the water, generated by a distant storm following the low linked to today’s swell. We’ll be lucky to see 1-1.5ft sets under a morning N/NW offshore ahead of sea breezes.
Looking at the rest of the period and we’ve got tiny levels of W’ly swell on the cards as a slow moving low firers up to the south west of Western Australia today, followed by northward positioned frontal activity next week.
The low isn’t ideally aimed but the best of the bunch with some very inconsistent, small 1-2ft sets likely Wednesday, fading into the end of the week.
Winds at this stage should be W/NW in the morning, but we’ll confirm this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
